What is IBLCE?

IBLCE®, or the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners®, is the independent international certification body conferring the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant® (IBCLC®) credential.

IBLCE is a non-profit organization governed by a multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse Board of Directors. The IBLCE examination is the premier, internationally recognized measure of knowledge in lactation consulting. Through its certification program, IBLCE advances the health and well-being of mothers and children worldwide by improving the quality and increasing the number of practitioners in lactation and breastfeeding care.

IBLCE is headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, USA. There are three regional offices serving the following areas:

• IBLCE in the Americas: Serving North, Central and South America, and Israel
• IBLCE in Europe: Serving Europe, the Middle East and northern Africa
• IBLCE in Asia Pacific: Serving Australia, Asia Pacific and Africa.
