2023 Examination Options
Whether you are an initial candidate or an IBCLC recertifying by examination, IBLCE has crafted policies to allow you to make the best decisions for you and your family given your own personal situation.
As IBLCE prepares for the 2023 examinations, both IBCLCs and initial candidates have several choices available to them, including:
- Live Remote Proctoring (available in English only by the testing vendor),
- Testing at a test centre,
- Deferring your fees to the next year due to documented extraordinary circumstances, or
- Partial financial refund of examination fees.
Live Remote Proctoring (LRP) in 2023
IBLCE will offer the March and September 2023 IBCLC examination administrations via Live Remote Proctoring in English, which is currently the only language offered by IBLCE’s third-party testing vendor.
Please note that LRP requires that candidates meet minimum technology requirements and are able to test in a private location. Candidates considering LRP should review the existing requirements here.
IBLCE has approved the use of LRP for 2023 IBCLC examination administrations in light of the ongoing global pandemic. Any use of LRP for IBCLC examinations in 2024 and beyond will be subject to further review.
