Are you considering or planning to take the IBCLC certification examination at a test centre? IBLCE has collected some information and created checklists to help you prepare yourself before making your appointment, as well as before your examination day.
We encourage you to review IBLCE’s and Prometric’s (IBLCE’s third-party testing vendor) information about taking the IBCLC examination at a test centre.
Please note that if you are requesting a breast/chestfeeding break that IBLCE is working closely with the testing vendor to provide a private location for you to breast/chestfeed or pump at the test centre. The private location may be a private room or a privacy tent. The testing vendor and IBLCE will work with you to locate the testing centre that is closest to your home that can offer a breast/chestfeeding accommodation.
You can find more information about sitting the examination at a test centre on the IBLCE’s COVID-19 FAQs page.
If you have decided to take the IBCLC examination at a test centre or are still considering this option, please review the checklists below to learn how to prepare for the examination at a test centre. You can click any step of the checklist to view more information or view the detailed checklist in full here.
Please note that IBLCE is making this information available to you on its website and will update it periodically. As this is highly dynamic and Prometric is continuing to make updates to its website, we encourage you to review this information and Prometric’s website on a regular basis.
To facilitate a smoother testing experience, you will want to read through this information carefully.
