Are you due to recertify in 2022?
The Continuing Education Self-Assessment (CE Self-Assessment) will launch by the end of October 2021 in English, and other IBLCE languages will follow.
Beginning in 2022, you have the option to recertify by CERPs each five-year recertification cycle. Recertification by examination remains an option but will no longer be required every ten years.
If you choose to recertify by CERPs, effective for 2022 recertifications and beyond, you will now take the CE Self-Assessment to help guide your continuing education. The CE Self-Assessment is a free, 2-hour, remote online, 72 multiple-choice-question assessment taken to create a Personalised Professional Development Plan.
The CE Self-Assessment is designed to encourage self-reflection on your knowledge and skills – and to identify areas for continued learning. You will receive immediate feedback after taking the CE Self-Assessment, and you will plan your continuing education based on your Personalised Professional Development Plan.
2022 is the beginning of the transition period. If you are recertifying in 2022, just 7 CERPs must be based on the Personalised Professional Development Plan based on the CE self-assessment. The number of CERPs required based on the results of the CE Self-Assessment will increase to 20 CERPs (~30%) in 2023 and 34 CERPs (~50%) in 2024 and beyond.
The CE Self-Assessment will initially open only for candidates due to recertify in 2022. Candidates due to recertify in 2023 and beyond should check back here for updates.
After completing all the required CERPs according to the results of the CE Self-Assessment, and all additional requirements for recertification, you are still required to submit your recertification by CERPs application and pay the fee by the deadline of September 30, 2022.
More details of the transition will be provided soon.
