Update as of October 23, 2020: The Deadline to Request a Deferral from a 2020 IBCLC Examination to 2021 is Coming Up on October 30, 2020

If you were approved for but unable to sit the 2020 IBCLC examination, please note that the deadline to request a deferral to an examination in 2021 through IBLCE’s extraordinary circumstances policy is coming up soon. Thank you noting that the deadline to request a deferral is October 30, 2020.

We understand that this is a challenging time for many. IBLCE’s extraordinary circumstances policy includes COVID-19 related concerns, such as: job loss of the candidate and/or partner/spouse, COVID-19 health issue for candidate or immediate family member, and/or concern for going into the public due to COVID-19.

Contact the IBLCE location that serves you to learn more and start the process.

For recertifying candidates: To defer to an examination in 2021 and receive a one-year certification extension, you will please need to submit 15 L-CERPs with your deferral request by October 30, 2020.
