If you are taking the September 2021 IBCLC examination, it’s not too early to review the IBLCE ID policy and check your IDs! To gain admission to the examination, candidates must present TWO (2) forms of identification. The first and last name on the two forms of ID you present on examination day and the name you have on file with IBLCE must match.
If you need to update the name on file with IBLCE to match your IDs, please contact the IBLCE location that serves you as soon as possible and before August 27, 2021.
If you need to update the name we have on file, we recommend updating it now before Examination Authorisation Emails are sent in July or August. This way, the name on your authorisation will match your IDs, allowing you to schedule your examination appointment as soon as you are authorised to do so.
Now is a good time to check your IDs to make sure they will meet IBCLC examination requirements:
The FIRST form of identification must be a valid, unexpired government-issued ID that includes the candidate’s name, current photograph, and signature. The following forms of IDs are accepted:
- driver’s license with photograph
- international/national/regional/local identification card with photograph
- passport with photograph
- military identification card with photograph
- green card, permanent residence card, or visa with photograph
The SECOND ID must have either their name and signature or their name and current photograph. Options include:
- credit card (Not accepted if testing via LRP)
- social security card (Not accepted if testing via LRP)
- employment / student ID card
- professional license
- health insurance cards
If you have any questions about your specific situation, please contact the IBLCE location that serves you.
