Update as of September 30, 2022: The Deadline to Recertify by CERPs Is Extended to October 31, 2022

As this is the first year candidates can Recertify by CERPs with the CE Self-Assessment, IBLCE has extended the recertification deadline for one time only for candidates recertifying in 2022. Candidates who need to renew their IBCLC credential in 2022 now have until October 31 to apply for recertification by CE Self-Assessment and CERPs.

IBCLCs may continue to complete the CE Self-Assessment and earn CERPs throughout October as long as all requirements are completed prior to submitting the application, and no later than October 31. Candidates who have requested a recertification extension due to extraordinary circumstances according to IBLCE policy may choose to forgo their request if they are now able to meet recertification requirements by the new deadline.

IBCLCs are required to take the CE Self-Assessment to identify their competencies based upon the current IBCLC Detailed Content Outline. IBCLCs recertifying in 2022 should then submit at least 7 of the required total 75 CERPs using the areas of study indicated in their Personalised Professional Development Plan (PPDP), generated by the CE Self-Assessment. CERPs that were completed prior to taking the CE Self-Assessment can be applied to the PPDP requirements if they align with the identified areas of study. Learn more about recertification here.

You can apply in IBLCE’s online credential management system in English, German, and Spanish here. Applications via online form can be found in all other languages on your language page.
